Faun, young Sydney men were yesterday sentenced at Armidale Quarter Sessions to five years hard labour for armed assault. They pleaded guilty to armed assault, using a vehicle illegally, carrying unlicensed pistols, and assaulting a police constable Eric Traynor Smith at Tingha. Brown and Todd received 12 months for carrying unlicensed pistols, Todd a further 12 months for assaulting the constable. Sentences to run concurrently with the five year term.
