What's in a name in Guyra potato trade controversy
The Che Guyra Argus discusses potato seed quality and the Guyra growers association. It notes past robust trade under contract and calls for a tighter code of rules after recent unsubstantiated complaints. The piece urges quality seed for home use and markets, warning inferior seed could end exports. It cites Mr. H S King and Mr. Frank White on seed practices and home planting versus external sales. It compares to Denmark's dairy trade to urge caution.

Tyranny Conquered Yet Freedom Priced Too High
Fragmentary note reflects a 19th century sentiment that tyranny is hard to defeat yet liberty is precious. It argues that victory in conflict brings glory and questions how to value freedom, suggesting it should be cherished more than wealth. The readable portion centers on lofty ideals and moral cost of freedom.
