Main Roads Causeways Targeted by Guyra Shire Councillor

Dr E L Dettmann criticised the remaining causeways on the Guyra Inverell road at the Guyra Shire Council meeting. He urged bridging Jones's Swamp and three rough causeways, urged action for a promised Sandy Creek bridge, and proposed estimates. Council planned to ask Macintyre Shire to bridge its section.

Guyra District War Memorial Hospital plans ready

At the final Memorial Hospital function, Mr W H Weicks announced completion of plans and specifications for the Guyra District War Memorial Hospital. The Hospitals Commission plans to call tenders next month, with rising costs elevating the project outlay to about £5000 while equipment funding remains to be arranged.
