Members of the Loyal Charles Veneas Lodge of Goyra welcomed New England District Officers Brother Renshaw District Grand Master and Brother Morgan Stephens District Secretary. The visit featured Purple Lodge degree conferrals on P.Gs. Bros. Wm. Stevenson and F. W. J. Sole, with social events including supper and a late dance, and a promise of a follow-up report next issue.

Second half Half-Holiday dominated with strong teamwork scoring 9 points to 0, the match played in a friendly spirit with Dr. McKenzie in charge of the whistle.
The annual stallion inspection at the Showground this Saturday examined Young Highlander Royal Prince and Little Prince with results pending. Officials warn the certification system may reduce district show entries as some horses are condemned for lack of soundness. The Art Union drawing for the local BC Church debt is rescheduled for September 7 at 3 PM. A sale advertisement for Danebury Horde at Ollera next Saturday invites buyers from Guyra, with wagons and catalogues available via Mr A S Mackenzie. Seth Salter secures a permanent post on the Blue Mountain Shire Council at Lawson as the new valour, with the office staffing including clerk and sanitary inspector.
Mr. Salter won the position from 24 applicants and begins duties on the 15th inst. He brings land valuation experience from Gayra, Coonabarabran, and Inglawood Shires and is expected to efficiently handle his new responsibilities.
