Easter holidays passed quietly with the Band Ball a success. Elliott Bros. Radium won the ladies high jump at the Royal Show. 5 ft 11 in. Bris and Diamond divided second and third. Warwick choral contest drew about 4000. Toope won with 256 points. Rain affected the Sydney show attendance at 20 500. Potato crops in Orange district praised, potential 15 tons per acre. Referendum address to be delivered at Guyra hall

Mr. M Donal d, member for Bingara, will visit Guyra Tuesday to deliver an evening speech on the Referenda at the Oddfellows Hall. Local figures Mr. F J Thomas and Mr. F J Foster reported good meetings, and Mr. McDonald is popular on the platform and expected to draw a large audience.

The Band Ball Social Raises Funds at Odd Fellows Hall

The Easter Monday Band Ball drew about sixty couples, earning an estimated fifteen pounds for Band funds. Music was provided by Miss B later Jen Innes with extras from the Band, and catering by A Helyar and W Stapleton in first class style. Athol Moore and W officiated and fulfilled their duties to general satisfaction.

Obituary for Mrs. John Farrell of Ollers

Mrs. John Farrell aged 54 of Ollers died at Armidale on Tuesday after a paralytic seizure. She was sister to E W Thomas of Guyra. Remains were transported to Guyra for burial at Ollers cemetery with rites by Rev W H Bradley and funeral arrangements by A H Tutt, Undertaker, Guyra.
