Electricity Committee's Report On Rural Extensions Costs

Red Cross Sends Comforts to Korea War Wounded
Since September last year the Australian Red Cross has sent 57 tons of comforts including 410000 cigarettes to sick and wounded soldiers in Korea. NSW branches make woollen garments for UN Forces in BCOF hospitals in Kure while Sydney ships 16 mm projectors and craft materials. Resources are pooled with British and American Red Cross Societies for free distribution to troops. NSW Div Sec A B Chalice notes American Red Cross staff attend the wounded evacuated through American lines, then British and Australian Welfare Officers assist in Tokio and Kure areas.
