A Scout Abroad notes an early 645 a.m. breakfast and describes Aden as barren with limited vegetation and distinct Arab and Somaliland populations. The port town sits near an European area seven miles away, with cheap native goods, crowded streets, goats in the houses, and a duty free port impact. Observations include schooling, wells in poor condition, and a camel driven market of small carts. A Saturday stroke competition results show Mrs Walker winning with a high score.
