Grand Forks Fair Opens Tuesday With Enhanced Exhibits

The Grand Forks Agricultural Association prepares its fifth annual fair to open Tuesday morning for two days. Judges include Bryde Wright Coats Robertson Fauquier with lectures. livestock poultry fruit vegetables to be judged. Supplementary prizes add ten dollars for top three boxes of apples Wealthy Jeffries and McIntosh Red. Tickets reduced to two dollars, valid for families or individuals, available at the secretary’s office.

Trail Smelter Again to Take Customs Ore

The Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company advises customers it will again receive ore for treatment with silver paid at 40 cents per ounce as an initial settlement. Phenomenally Rich Ore Strike Near Grand Forks

Salvatore Bonnacio and John Marvell report a rich ore strike at their Guiditto claim on Welther mountain, north fork of Kettle River, about forty miles from Grand Forks. Samples sent to W. H. Stowell & Co. in Spokane assay at 15.20 oz gold per ton, worth $314.21. The lead width runs 20 to 30 inches and extends across the river. The owners plan a preliminary wagon road survey to the government road and to connect with the North Park branch of the Kettle Valley Railway.

Canadian Pacific cuts schedule with tri weekly trains

The Canadian Pacific passenger schedule changes take effect next Monday with a tri weekly service replacing daily trains.
