Dalgety and Co report 1st inst Midland Junction market results with 6312 sheep penned. Best crossbred wethers to 35s, ewes to 34s 5d. merino wethers from Ashburton to 36s 4d, Murchison wethers to 34s 6d. Hoggets scarce. suckers 4375 offered, some culled to grassers. Pigs 649 penned, market firm with high values, 2473 sheep, 538 lambs, 45 pigs sold.

The Geomallin Agricultural Society led by its Royal chairman presented to Commissioner Sutton a plan to establish an experimental farm near Berring Siding. On a site visit, Mc Suran and Royal discussed the project. The Commissioner supported experimental farms but referred the matter to the Premier as a policy issue.

For the week ended August 23 Ab emggregate bank debit balances in the Australian Wheat Board fell by 339000 to £3325000. Credit balances stood at £79000 and £8000 against New South Wales and Victoria. Other States recorded debits: South Australia £1431000 and Western Australia £991000.
