Sealed tenders addressed to the undersigned for the Post Office in Victoria British Columbia will be received till Friday October 184 for erection works. Plans and specs are at the Department of Public Works Ottawa and F Gamble Victoria J C office. Tenders must use supplied form and bear actual signature. A bank cheque five percent of tender amount to Minister of Public Works accompanies each tender. The department may not accept the lowest bid. By order E F Roy Ottawa September 6 18H.
The Presbyterian Church in Canada reports arduous field work from Golden to the region around Fort Steele. Missionary McKinnon has organized meetings, baptism, and a church site plan at Windermere with trustees appointed and a grant sought from the Church and Manse Building Board. Subscriptions totaling 190 dollars were raised as a Sabbath school was formed, with Galena also planning a church. The journey continued toward Fort Steele with stops at Windermere and Galena, ending after a Sabbath service.
