Illegal Raffles Prompt Strong Action by Officials
The Chief Secretary and Minister warn against illegal raffles and unauthorised tickets printed without names or addresses. They say raffles must be conducted at permitted bazaars for charitable or patriotic aims, with balance sheets and receipts submitted to ensure profits reach their destination. Unauthorized ticket sales in shops or streets risk penalties, as officials seek to curb evasion and ensure accountability.
