Gloucester Dairy Company Holds Annual Shareholders Meeting
The regular general meeting of Gloucester Dairy Company shareholders was held in the School of Arts hall on Tuesday morning. Chairman H. J. Dennett presided. about 20 shareholders attended initially, rising to 50–60 as the session continued. The annual report showed record butter output of 164,776 lb despite low prices overseas, with a 5 percent dividend paid to shareholders and plans to install new machinery to improve efficiency. The manager Mr. Wratten explained balance sheet details, including office value around £900 and plant investments raising depreciation, while trading results were down about £9,000 from the prior year despite higher output. The meeting approved the report, discussed Newcastle butter sales and debt protection via trading through PDS, and nominated auditors with Mr. Hall favored for local qualifications.
