Boldness and Escape Of Bushrangers Bradish And Brannigan
Bradish and Brannigan, two former A.A. Company men, mounted a daring escape from Warrash jail in 1844 after seizing two Calendar cows, arming themselves, and raiding the station at Carrivak. They fled with two hostages, rode toward the Peel and Gloucester, then encountered a fierce confrontation at Carrivak hut. Overseer Cullen and captive Yates fought the bushrangers, aiding capture. Wounded Brannigan and the other outlaw were later imprisoned with aid from Captain King and McKellar McKinty, and the pair faced eventual trial and punishment in Gloucester, culminating in a condemned outcome.
