Relief talks error floods dairy farmers 1950 council report
The Executive Committee of the Milk Zone Dairymen's Council met in Sydney on August 31 1950. Fat cattle at Maitland saleyards were firm against last week with about 700 yarded across all classes. Prime and heavy bullocks and cows sold well with top prices reaching 247 16 for an extra prime bullock and best cows around 33 36, 210 for a consignment. Dairy cattle and calves showed solid demand with calved cows up to 24 and calves to 10. Pigs totaled around 150 with backs to 18 and bacon to 12 4 6.
