Gloucester Union discusses travelling statements amendment

At a Gloucester Branch meeting of the Primary Producers Union Mr H Muddle urged amending the Pastures Protection Act to exempt stock travelling not more than five miles between paddocks from travelling statements. He argued the current rule requiring a statement for moves under twenty miles, and permits beyond that, imposes daily hardship in coastal districts. Fellow member Archinal supported the move, saying it would aid stockowners with closely spaced paddocks.
