Seven Ounce Nuggets in Drake District Find
Mr Christopher James Lean and Mr W Atkinson discovered gold near Tenterfield in the Drake district. They unearthed about 100 ounces of pure gold in days from ore five feet deep, with several seven ounce nuggets. They recently sought to dispose of about 80 ounces to a bank and have a mining lease. Local history recalls nuggets of 174 and 1780 ounces nearby. Prospectors flock to the site amid optimism for deeper riches.
