Wages Tax Change Notices for NSW Employers and Workers

The Special Income and Wages Tax Management Amendment Act of 1937 raises exemptions to 1 per week for wages up to 12 and reduces Wages Tax for wages from 1 to 20 per week beginning 1 December 1937. An 8d per week per dependent rebate is offered via employee declarations, with forms available at post offices and stations. Employers must apply reduced rates and forward duplicates to the Commissioner within 30 days. false declarations can incur penalties up to £50.

Lower North Coast District Bowling Association meets at Wingham

A meeting of the Lower North Coast District Bowling Association was held at Wingham Bowling Green on Saturday November 20 1927. Delegates including Dr F C Stokes president and B S Hawkins secretary discussed affiliations rule books cost for 200 copies, inaugural Pennant competition with B and C divisions, entry rules for teams, closing entries December 4, commencement December 11, program drawing December 4 in Taree, nomination fees 10/6 per team, pennant and certificate prizes, tea for teams at 1 shilling, and travel notice rules by telephone by 9 am on match days.
