Diggers 1950 Rodeo Marred by Rain and Mud

Rain disrupted attendance at Gloucester's 1950 Diggers Rodeo, cutting gate takings though crowd numbers remained sizable. Tests of grounds and track conditions limited participation with notable absences from top riders yet a strong field of visitors and steady drafting despite flooding. The event preserved its community effort with Longworth officials, volunteers, and featured riders such as Len Ballard and Margaret Abbott, culminating in open and novice drafts and a celebrated Ladies Camp Draft winner.
