About fifty residents and visitors attended as Mrs L O Martin opened electricity to Barrington. W J Hawdon noted the line is the second transmission project by the company, with Gloucester to Barrington River served at the same town rate plus a 6 percent capital cost charge. Speakers praised local development and the railway and government departments, while a luncheon followed the ceremony.
