Callaghan's Creek Sports Day Attracts Wide Attendance

On September 27 a major sports meeting was held at Callaghan's Creek drawing crowds from Gloucester Krambach Giro Cooplacurripa Wingham Mount George and Dingo Creek. Judge H. R. Lee from Oxler Island presided as events produced Keen competition and humorous moments. Open Stock Draft won by S. Bridge Giro with L. Carter and S. Bridge second. Maiden Draft went to G. Muddle first and S. Bridge second. Other results include Callaghan's Creek Handicap Moonshine first Sunrack second, Bullock Riding J. German, Scrubbers' Race R. K. Burke, Open Flag Race T. Fahey, Buckjumping B. Smith, Lady Rider Miss Latimore, Lady's Fock Miss Hinton. Chronicle coverage notes committee thanks and police presence by Sergeant Laurence.

Carrying Capacity of Irrigated Pastures

Obituary of Krambach resident Brice George Bradney

Brice George Bradney of Krambach died at a private hospital in Wingham at 55. He was WWI veteran awarded the Military Medal and twice mentioned in dispatches. Survived by wife Misa Lake former Old Junee, son George Mansefield Bradney, daughter Neryle, and siblings. Funeral held Friday with Rev Dr McLoughan conducting. Manning River Times.

Burma Association to lay flowers on graves in Burma tragedy

A Burma based gesture by the Burma Association will place flowers on graves of Australian dead at Tham busyat, all buried victims of the Burma railroad tragedy. The Fox Services Association of Burma care Rangoon Development Trust directs relatives to write, including soldier rank name and unit for pensions entitlements and medical benefits.
