Proceeds described as satisfactory despite weather. various stalls and games led by local volunteers.
A number of cases were disposed of at the Local Court on Saturday with H N Chaplin and M Newton on the bench. Keith Hurley was convicted of stealing one letter but released on entering into a 410 recognisance for twelve months. He faced an additional charge over money found in his possession but the case was dismissed. £1 17s 1d was reported stolen from Mr A S Phillips at Corbett's Cafe where he lodges. Hurley had been on the premises the next morning for legitimate business and admitted going to the rear on Wednesday night. Other cases included several drunks fined 10s with defaults to 1 day. Larney fined 30s or three days for indecent language. Siddons fined 10s for malicious damage with witness costs. Francis O'Malley was fined £2 or four days for drunkenness and indecent language. A separate remand involved a razor theft from W T Relf of Rockhurst. The Gloucester cattle market at Homebush showed little change, with Bignell of Gloucester securing average prices per head around £6 1s and £5 7s for cows sold by Winghcombe Carson Ltd.
