Success of 1948 Show Acclaimed
The 1948 show posted an interim credit balance of £25 2s 6d amid a thinner profit due to the absence of the Publican's booth. The Ladies Auxiliary raised about £353 from lunch and refreshments, banked to fund further improvements. President B P Dawson praised the season, noting a record gate and superb exhibits, while thanking the committee, stewards, and especially the Ladies' Auxiliary and secretary Mrs Newton for flawless show management.
