The third year of rationing begins June 5 as announced by Senator R V Keane. Ration coupons from the old book vanish June 3, 4. new coupons usable from June 5. Collect at issuing centres or by post. present old book and civilian identity card for each person over 14.

The Minister for Agriculture and Forests announced action to remedy inequitable distribution of bran and pollard amid rising demand from pigment, egg, and dairy programs. Dry coastal conditions and a 50 percent higher November to January output than the previous year are noted. Measures restrict offals to stockowners and traders to streamline trade, plus encouragement of wheatmeal use for stock. Additional mills and plants expected soon, with a dedicated investigator to rectify issues, and a meeting for Gloucester Co-op Dairy suppliers on May 8 to discuss winter milk supply to the Milk Board.
