Stroud Hosts Noted Visitors and Explorer Leichhardt Memories
The old Stroud settlement near Booral in the North Coast Highway area housed notable figures including Sir Edward Parry Colonel Dumaresq and Captain King of the Australian Agricultural Company. It recalls two 1847 visitors to Tahlee and Booral and notes the stay of explorer Ludwig Leichhardt who later vanished on his continent crossing.
