Farms Closed Herds Sold for Manpower
Manpower shortages drive rural farm closures and dairy herds being sold to fund labor needs. Agricultural leaders blame delayed call‑ups and regulatory barriers, noting elderly workers and women stepping in while production and storage tasks suffer. War Agricultural Committees aided labor access. other officials call for a Food Ministry and stronger primary producer support.

In Dorrigo police court last week Leo Joseph Pereira was fined £30 with 8 costs for holding a Liquid Petrol Consumer's license and not returning it after ceasing to use the vehicle. The car spent four months in a garage due to a damaged chassis and renewal parts scarcity. coupons were drawn for June to September. Pereira claimed ignorance of the need to surrender the license while the vehicle remained registered. The PM stated tickets were for one vehicle and one purpose, and using them for another is an offence.
