The Engineer reported on highway inspections by Main Roads Department staff at Craven and Stratford and noted planned tar surface work to save transport costs. The Road Committee discussed Billabong Bridge decking, Barrington River road alterations, and appointing a new turncock, with recommendations for minor repairs and ongoing inspections. Building permit was approved for a weatherboard cottage on Church Street.
Austin Gallagher and two Krambach residents urged Manning Shire Council to continue tar via the State Highway to the school. The P and C Association backed the request at Friday’s meeting. The council, on motion Cra Breckenridge Wright, resolved to forward the request to the Department of Main Roads.
