Letterbox Request Under Review In Gloucester
Postmaster General H L Anthony told Gloucester Chamber through P E Lucock that he will reconsider a jetter receiver request in the southern town. He had refused a Ravenshaw and Gregson Street site previously as it was too near an existing receiver at Ravenshaw and Hing Streets. A new proposal for Ravenshaw and Phillip Streets cites a quarter mile distance from the existing site, with Phillip Street residents walking about half a mile.

Maitland cattle sales opened with strong trade and full attendance on Monday. About 800 cattle, mostly good quality, including prime bullocks and cows, sold irregularly cheaper than last sale for cows and heifers but bullocks fetched similar to last week.
