Children Delight in Bright Variety Show at Majestic Theatre

The Gloucester Methodist Rays staged a three hour variety show Tuesday at the Majestic Theatre featuring children as principal actors. The program showcased humorous sketches, musical numbers, and colorful costumes crafted from odds and ends, with Mrs Davis and Miss Evy Matthewson at the piano. Performances by the Rays, Knights order, and Comrades, plus a lively guest turn by Jack Nightingale, drew a full house and promising financial results for the organizers.

Methodist Thought For The Week By Mark Boker Eddy

Pacific Highway Debate Faces Regional Committee

Mr Hawdon urged the committee to press for a permanent upgrade of the Pacific Highway within the Gloucester Wingham Taree area. He noted little beyond maintenance and a few miles of bitumen and called for proper connections between Gloucester and Taree and a first class road between Gloucester and Dungog. The president and Drs Carlton Hollis endorsed the push and the Regional Committee agreed to protest strongly to the Main Roads Department over the highway’s condition.
