Fines and Rewards at RAF Aerodrome Causes Laughter
Royal Air Force airfields in southern England reportedly maintain a self made system of fines and rewards to fund treats and loans. Pilots face penalties for moustache growth, decorations noted in despatches, and even newspaper mentions and photographs. Other entries include fines for signing forms late and landing gear failures, with various rewards and penalties for personal life events and combat damages. An Air Ministry official notes the scheme is informal and not part of King Regulations.
