Farmers hear J M Pitt on fertilisers and lucerne aims
J M Pitt District Inspector of Agriculture addressed the Central Rivers District Council of the Primary Producers Union at Memorial Town Hall on June 5. He discussed top dressing, paspalum control, and winter application of superphosphate with sulphate of ammonia, urging plots and RAS competitions to boost yields and soil health. He noted phosphoric acid deficiency in NSW soils, advised annual fertilising for some uses, and encouraged lucerne expansion and central storage to support fodder crops.
