A H P Association Holds Special Meeting on Amendments

Members of the Gheuvester A H P Association met at the School of Arts to consider Arch McRae’s motion to rescind a July 1933 amendment to the constitution. The motion passed, allowing an election of committee members. discussion covered guarantors, penalties, and a postwar term. Tailors Demand Higher Wages and Tax Breaks

About fifty unemployed tailors gathered outside a London labour bureau in the West End on Thursday, spurning regular pressers for £15 weekly five days a week. They demand £25 weekly plus a £59 income tax exemption, knowing they can secure it. Britain’s clothing costs rise as utility clothes-makers struggle to find staff. Many men choose high wage, short-term work over steady, lower-pay jobs.

Turnips Harvested From Comboyne Farm Attract Attention

Last week at Taree Mr Leo Cavanigh, manager of the PDS depot, received outsized turnips from Mr Duffy’s Comboyne property. A swede turnip without the top weighed Thilbs, and an American cow turnip with top weighed Tsilbs, drawing curiosity from locals and marking an unusual harvest note.
