Geology students study Manning district rocks and fossils
Nineteen senior geology students from Sydney and Armidale, led by Prof. L. A. Cotton and researchers Dr. Ida Brown and Mr. A. H. Voisey, visited the Gloucester district and Manning area to observe rock types and structures, fossils, glacial deposits, and volcanic activity shaping the landscape. The field trip linked local geology to ancient sea levels and tectonic events dating up to 300 million years ago, with visits to Kimbriki, Mount George, Chatham, and Mt. Olive among others.
