Byzantine Tomb Finds In Stamboul At Hippodrome Site
Reported discovery by British expedition in Stamboul near the Hippodrome under Oxford archaeology direction reveals a stone pyramid like monument and a sarcophagus with a mummified body, gold and jewels, a wine barrel, Venus water, a fish effigy, and a dragon statue. Excavations continue as artifacts such as a metal door and inscriptions are uncovered.
