Red Cross Society year in review funds raised and helpers thanked
A year of hearty St. Gloucester Red Cross fundraising and support is recorded. Donations from stalls, luncheons, booths, and events totaled substantial sums for General Funds and Prisoners of War Funds. Community groups including Gloucester Bowling Club and Miss Gloucester participants offered major gifts, with concert and ball events yielding large sums. The report notes facilities support from Shire Council, local businesses, and multiple committees, plus many volunteers and helpers who distributed comforts to wounded and sick services personnel. The year closes with gratitude from President E. M. Higgins and Hon Secretary M. J. Tilbrook and hopes for continued success.
