Annual Gloucester Poultry Show Amid Weather Hurdles

The Gloucester Poultry and Cage Bird Club held its annual show at Gloucester Show Ground last Friday and Saturday. Despite wet conditions restricting some outside entries from Maitland and midnorth regions, the event drew about 550 entries across poultry and cage birds, with space stretched to capacity. Judge J. C. Hunt praised overall quality. A. C. Beale of Wingham won best bird, while Les Relf Gloucester secured top opposite sex. Local exhibitors dominated, and visitors noted the show would have been a record without floods.
