A survey of 107 farms in the Milk Zone shows last year’s production cost at 7/0 per gallon, including 1/10 for June 30 costs plus basic wage adjustments. Mrs W Forman of 28 Narbatta Street Inverell celebrated her 97th birthday in good health amid a large family gathering. She is mother to 18 children and has 87 grandchildren 159 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. Her husband the late William John Forman joined early diamond rushes to Capeton and most children were born there. Since his death she lives with daughter Mrs Mary Hall and son Mr George Forman.

One Killed Six Hurt In Bus Collision Near Raymond Terrace

Former Gloucester Soldier Decorated at Investiture
A former Gloucester soldier, Corporal Crane of the Sth Div Sigs, received the British Empire Medal at an investiture at Admiralty House by Governor-General McKell on January 21. Cranes’s citation praises his untiring efforts to maintain communications during Finschhafen operations, including a dangerous four mile dash to repair a line through no man’s land. Lea was mentioned in dispatches three times. accompanying him was his niece and stepdaughter Margaret who likened the medal to a school Victory Day prize.
