The Vengeance Of The RingBushranger Ward’s grim justice in 1848 New South Wales
George Waters Ward, a convicted robber with a ticket of leave, roamed the Williams Valley and Paterson district as a bushranger in 1848. He sought Mary Brandon linked to Richard Connolly, executed a dramatic vigil at Aberdeen, and ultimately faced The Ring’s code and a fatal reckoning. The tale traces his pursuit, confrontations, and haunting burial of Brandon, ending with Ward’s capture and the Ring’s bid to save him.
