Inquest Opens Over Soldiers Deaths At Bundook Road
The Coroner at Taree opened an inquest into the deaths of Clarence Hogan and Leo Litherland, two soldiers who died December 4 1942 when a military truck left Bundook road. Witnesses described a narrow steep by‑pass with a 350 foot drop, machinery in the truck, and the truck rolling down a slope after hitting a road hole. The coroner found deaths due to accidental injuries and no fault by the driver.
