Company's Grant, Parish of Gloucester, for irrigation of 10 acres. Hybrid maize seed will be available next season for commercial plantings. Hybrids may yield up to 25 percent more than best premontane varieties. The Agriculture Minister Graham noted the war halted the department’s hybrid breeding for six years but progress has resumed at Glen Innes and Grafton Experiment Farms. Seed of cregseg at Glen Innes and 80 acres imported American hybrids are being sown for northern tablelands and coastal regions. Field yield tests across the state will demonstr ate the value of hybrids. A Gloucester Local Land Board meeting is set for January 2 with district notices for special lease applications and land blocks at Bullahdelah and Gloucester.
