The outlaw who was dogged by bad luck

In Smiths Weekly a tale by The Man in the Mask recounts Peter Quigley, a bushranger in 1836 Ireland and Australia, facing superstition, brutal pursuit, and a failed first raid. A kind Yorkshirie man Mr Chapman aids him briefly, but Quigley’s fate turns when a settler near Clarence Town and a dog thwart his bungled ambush, ending his singlehanded venture.
