Wreck of the London a 19th Century Tragedy
The London bound from London to Melbourne foundered in the Bay of Biscay after days of furious weather. Of 200 aboard, 27 died. Survivors included 19 who escaped in a lifeboat after the ship broke apart. Among the voyagers were Australians including Thomas Graham and his wife, and the tragedy also claimed the noted Australian tragedian G. Brooke.
