Gloucester Sub Branch RS and S.LI annual meeting 1935 36 notes
The Gloucester Sub-Branch of the Returned Soldiers' League held its annual meeting at the School of Arts with Mr J McRae presiding. The secretary reported a year ending 31 January 1936 with 66 members, 15 average attendance, and a credit balance of £47 16s 2d. Activities included support for the Memorial Hospital project, sick and distressed soldiers and widows' pensions, a £100 decoration allowance, sports and dances, a reunion and poultry supper, and a successful Christmas Tree for 20 children. Two local veterans died. sympathy extended to widows. Officers and committees were appointed including President J McRae and Hon Sec A J Woodward.
