Financials showed receipts from subscriptions and sales, with expenditures including rest rooms and delegates’ expenses. Officers reappointed: Mrs Weekes as president, Mrs McLeod as treasurer, Mrs Glover as Relief Officer, and Mrs Hicks and Mrs Grimree elected to the Younger Set advisory. R. S. Wilson re-elected auditor. The meeting closed with a call to recruit new members.
The Minister for Health Mr Fitzsimons announces a Medical Practitioners Bill to be introduced next year. It will include a clause to curb unscrupulous advertising and place responsibility on advertisers for excessive claims. The bill also provides a scale of medical appeal for patients challenging high charges.
