Water marks on roads debated after Gloucester River washaway

The council discussed water mark standards from 2ft to 2ft 6in and potential liability if an accident occurred. The Main Roads Board opposed water marks. Dr. Laurie moved to inform them of the situation and request inspection and reaffirmation. Waukivory Deviation Plans Submitted for Grant

Plans for the Waukivory Deviation between the 19 and 21 mile were submitted by Gloucester Shire Council to the Department of Main Roads seeking a grant. The department has funds available for this section and the council plans to invite tenders. The estimate totals £13,388 with the scope from Cerrall’s contract end to the hilltop all within Gloucester Shire. completing the additional mile would require about £6,500 more.

Gloster Bowling Club Flannel Ball Charms Gloucester Crowd

The Gloucester Bowling Club held a unique Flannel Ball on Tuesday night on the green despite weather anxieties. About 90 couples danced to Len Monro’s tempo with Sherbet and a praised buffet. Prizes included a donated Christmas cake won by Rhondda Laurence. the event is planned to become annual with Christmas Eve suggested for next year.
