Court Room Turned into Produce Store in Glouces ter Case
Neiman McLeod Taylor of Copeland faced trial in Gloucester Police Court on a June 27 charge of possessing maize and shelled corn believed stolen. Police described a scene of corn, cobs, and drums found on Taylor’s property near Copeland and at Barrington farms. Constable Casey testified to theft-related observations and sampling of maize, while witnesses linked maize to Taylor and Miss Carson’s Barrington farm. The case involved field evidence, multiple corn types, and conflicting statements from the defendant about growing and sourcing the crop.
