War Service Awards For Africa Star And 1939-43 Star
Prime Minister Mr Curtin announced late in June that two World War II service stars the Africa Star and the 1939-43 Star will be granted to armed forces and merchant navy members. The Africa Star recognizes North Africa operations and other global duties in the first four years of the war. No individual may qualify for both stars. Ribbons will be issued immediately while actual stars are manufactured after the war. The Africa Star covers North Africa service from the start of the campaign.
