Government aims to lift endowment burden on industry
Speaking at the Commercial Travellers' Association banquet, Minister for Lands Mr. R. T. Ball urged government action to remove the family endowment burden from the industry once an amendment is arranged. He blamed child endowment for much of the mounting railways cost, while Mr. A. D. Forster defended New South Wales railways, noting low charges and relatively high wages compared with other states. Rabbit skin values at Sydney sales were noted as weaker early but improved, with totals at 73 tons and varied prices across several grades.
