Gloucester Pastures Protection Board rejects branding plan
At its Friday meeting the Gloucester Pastures Protection Board rejected a proposal by the Manning Raver Stock Owners Association to seek government approval for bought stock branding within 14 days. Directors warned the plan impracticable and dangerous, arguing branding on cattle would harm market value and ownership proof. The board declined to support the Association and urged members to apply individually if they desired registered brands, while noting sympathy for deceased director Andrews and Mrs Titcume.
