Kookaburra Club Laughs At Gloucester Council Tale
A late afternoon Kookaburra Club meeting in the Park ended with a member’s joke about Gloucester and its town council. The chairman warned of penalties for disobedience as the old bird explained how the council levies money, enforces by laws, and pays wardens who guard streets, gates, and public safety, a tale provoking laughter among members despite odd, incomprehensible remarks.

Craven Plateau Notes Rain Falls and Road Repair
From our Correspondent half an inch of rain fell on Craven Plateau this week. J T Grant begins building a new house at Bowman while Geo Relf secures Ward's River project. W Sellick supplies building material. Upper Bowman road is in splendid repair and contractor R Alder earns praise for keeping it good. The contractor system is praised as a council move enabling progress. Glen Fern Orchard shows fruit for the young season with vegetables abundant, but the plateau remains idle without road access.
