Anzac Day Observed Across Commonwealth Despite Restrictions

Anzac Day 1941 saw no official marches or open air gatherings in Australia and other dominions due to restrictions. Thousands marked the day quietly with combined services and church ceremonies. In Gloucester Rev J A Smith led a well attended service at St Pauls as tributes were placed for fallen and overseas service members including Leo Clarke. The rector urged unwavering Anzac spirit and duty to support the war effort in all forms.
